Emporium - 'Silver Brainwaves' album re-released.

'Silver Brainwaves', the 2005 release from one of Edinburgh’s finest bands, Emporium, is set for a digital re-release on June 13th 2011.

Formed during the winter of 1998, the 3-piece began writing their sun-drenched and healing pop music, releasing 3 albums between 1998 and 2002 filled with radio friendly tracks, attracting deserved attention alongside national and international airtime.

No strangers to hard work, Emporium honed their craft over years of writing and recording to create a truly original sound which received critical acclaim from a variety of sources, whether it was a 5 star review in Guitarist magazine, or mentions in end-of-year lists for BBC Scotland or various European radio Shows. Emporium’s dedication to their art was bearing its fruits.

In 2003 the band were awarded a coveted Scottish Arts Council Grant to record and release 2005’s Silver Brainwaves album. The band’s fourth studio effort is unashamedly so far removed from the current heartbeat of British music it feels like a timeless classic. Drifting top lines and fragile vocals reminiscent of Brian Wilson, backed with faraway harmonies, it is hard to believe this music was born in Edinburgh and not California in the mid 60’s.

Silver Brainwaves is an appropriate title for this album of trippy, nostalgic, fantasy pop songs that penetrate like bright lights in a dark room. Uncompromising, unique and alerting, this record will melt the coldest of hearts, either through the enchanting vocal lines or stark raving mad song writing. A genuinely original listening experience for the perfect balance between the Pet Shop Boys, Frank Zappa, Belle and Sebastian and everything else!

This album is a must for any music aficionado who wrongly believes they have heard everything original. Emporium have re-written the rule book, or perhaps they never read it at all. A must listen.

Silver Brainwaves will be available on digital download and cd (via Amazon) from June 13th 2011.'
